Same idea led founders on the 23 October 1922 to foundation of Slovak Museum of Agriculture as of an institution expositions of which would show all the known history of agriculture and its inseparable connection with culture and survival of the mankind.
The area consists of museum buildings, open-air folk museum and railway. It is a part of area of Agrokomplex exhibition centre in Nitra. Walk in the unique museum is a great experience both for individuals and families. Beautiful open-air museum with 35 extant built objects will take people to the atmosphere of period decades ago. Bakery, oil mill, mills, farming houses, common buildings or manor farm estate, visitor can see and try all of them. People of all age categories desire to be transported by still functioning steam locomotives of Nitra’s field railway. You can see also the Zobor hill from area, magestically rising above the town of Nitra. The visit is once in a lifetime experience enriching body and soul. It really pays off to come and experience almost eight thousand years of agriculture, documented in museum expositions, to taste local specialties, to take a ride in historical carriages pulled by steam train.
